Gil Mualem-Doron (Ph.D) is a socially and politically engaged artist. He works in the media of photography, installations, performance and digital art. Much of his work is participatory, working with marginalised communities in UK and abroad. Due to the nature of his work he has faced censorship, legal and physical threats.
He is the creator of The New Union Flag, a proposal for replacing the Union Jack (2015-today) that has been supported by the Art Council England.
He has exhibited world wide including Tate Modern, People’s History Museum (Manchester), Turner Contemporary, Haifa Museum of Art (Israel), Detroit Centre of Urban Ecology, East66 – Centre for Urban Activism (Amsterdam), EME3 (Barcelona) and was published in Numerous journals and several books. He has won grants and awards from The Art Council England, the British Council, Henri Ford Foundation, and Counterpoints Arts. He has gained a Ph.D. in Architecture from TU Delft, School of Architecture (2018)
